Behind Sydney is an evolving collection of photographs intended to depict the city of Sydney in a light different to the standard tourist photos we are used to seeing.

The photos are both micro and macro, elegant and disturbing. They show what I think the city is really all about.

Who am I?

I am an amateur photographer who has been taking pictures since I got a Kodax instamatic camera more years ago than I care to admit. I have lived in Sydney all my life and love the vibrancy and atmosphere of it. Particularly if you scratch the surface and peek at what lies underneath.

When you do look at the city, beyond the everyday and the mundane, you will find a unique quiet beauty that may sometimes be comforting and sometimes disturbing. But hopefully it will always make you think.
